Our Students

We are so excited to welcome all the 2016 Freshers! We will be running a free pick up service through the first few weeks of term, check back for further updates on that.

Your time at university may define many things. Your go-to late night snack as you finish an essay, your favourite lecturer, the seats you sit on in a lecture hall- the line without any creaky seats. One thing certainly, that will be defined during your time in Swansea, is your relationship with God. Coming to university is so exciting but can be a challenge at times. Trust that God is in control and has everything in hand. As the student team, we would love to be alongside you during your time at uni, encouraging and supporting you as you adjust to student life and beyond.

Being a student at LifePoint Church today means you are part of something much larger than student life on campus; you are part of a family, sharing life with people from diverse backgrounds, brought together for a common purpose. We, as LifePoint Students, are passionate about being a part of the wider church family by getting involved in different aspects of church life, from Musicians to Rainbows (our children’s groups).

We spend Sunday morning worshipping together with the rest of the church in our weekly meeting, then have Student Lunch and normally end up spending the entire afternoon together too. During the week, we hold LifeGroups, a small group of students meeting up to study the Bible, pray and share challenges and encouragements. As well as these times, we tend to spend a lot of time together on the beach, with volleyball, bonfires and BBQs, going for trips to the cinema or gallivanting out into the Gower where we also hold our annual Weekend Away after exams in the spring term.

LifePoint Church began in the 1970s when a bunch of students with outrageous flares and ridiculously long hair began a journey together to discover and learn what God has to say about life. That journey led them to start LifePoint Church, a group of Christians that help give life to others.

If you haven’t spent much time at church or never met God personally, you might like to do something called Student Alpha. This is a short ‘course’ which explores life's big questions through eating, chatting and debating. We run Student Alpha courses throughout the year – get in touch if you are interested in coming along to one.

Oli and Amy head up the student team at LifePoint Church, assisted by Rachael, Hannah Praise, Dani, Nathan, Tom and Mike. We are so excited and looking forward to meeting you!
